Botox® Injections

These creases usually look like vertical lines making a perfect number 1 or 11 on your face between your brows, or look like horizontal lines on your forehead. Botox® can make all these things disappear in a short office visit with minimal discomfort. Botox® can even prevent many lines and creases before they form! Botox® is the trade name of Botulinum Toxin Type A. It is a natural, purified protein that when injected into the muscle, blocks the nerve impulses that cause frown lines, laugh lines, droopy eyelids and brows. The entire treatment takes about 15 minutes. Will you still have expression on your face? Of course! You can still frown and look surprised, but without wrinkles! Treated muscles will start to gradually regain their action over 3 to 6 months, so repeat treatments are necessary. The cost for this treatment is $15/unit. The amount of units is individualized but an average area is approximately $150-$450. Dr. Tuominen will customize the treatment to the desired results and a return appointment approximately 2 weeks after the initial treatment is recommended to administer additional Botox® if needed. However, the more you use Botox®, the less you need over time.

Juvéderm™ - a natural beauty lift
Impressions of beauty change with time – as do our faces as we age. Our lips get thinner, our cheeks look hollowed, our eyes look sunken with dark circles under them, and we develop vertical creases or folds on both sides of our mouth (resembling parenthesis marks). The effects of Juvéderm™ usually last up to 9 months. This effect varies depending on the type of skin, areas, amounts injected, and the injection technique. In some cases, the effect may last for up to one year. The cost of Juvéderm® is $525/vial. The number of vials used is customized for each patient depending on the area. A return appointment approximately 2 weeks after the initial treatment is recommended to administer additional Juvéderm® if needed.
